amd Upgrading an old computer

So my current cpu is an AMD Athlon X2 400+ http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Athlon%2064%20X2%2...(ADO4000DDBOX).html
(I know its an old cpu but hey atleast it works)

Does adding a gpu increase my cpu's performance? Gpu like 610,730 or some shizzles

for peso (Philippine Peso) maybe about 1000-2000 not giving alot of money because I'm currently saving up for a new build (maybe in 2-6 months because I'm waiting for Ryzen and my dad is gonna give me some money to add for my build)

I think 950 is the maximum range you can get.

Oh, and there are some GTX750 with 2nd Gen. Maxwell GPU-based models. You can also seek for those.

Out of my budget (saving up for an new pc with 7400 and an 1060 3gb or 470 blah blah  lol) but yeah is a gt 730 enough for it? I'm just playing simple games like Crossfire and shizzles

I don't know well about those games, but since the recommended combination of Crossfire is an old VGA, GT730 will work for it.

Actually GT730 performs almost the same as the state-of-the-art mainstream Intel iGPU.
