Hi folks.

Wondering if there are any forum members with Javascript/jQuery experience?

I'm looking for a book that will help me learn Javascript and jQuery. I know there are a ton of guides online, but i feel reading from a book really helps it sink in.

I'm predominately a PHP, HTML and CSS developer but i'm finding it more and more evident that i need to understand the basics of Javascript to supplement my development work.

Any suggestions?

I'd suggest Codecademy.com for both JS and jQuery. It guides you through interactive lessons while explaining what's going on.

I know, it's online. but at least it's interactive. I can't suggest any books sadly

Thanks. I'll check it out. I suppose i need to get with the times and start learning from online sources. It just doesn't stick in my mind like reading from paper!

Lynda.com to have courses in Oracle (17), Open Source (7), Android (4), Apache (2), Google (2), Maven (2), Tomcat (2), JavaFX (1), and SQLite (1). I think there is a discount for using the affiliate link from LinusTechTips.

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves (Abraham Lincoln,1808-1865; 16th US president).

The Mrs' has been bugging me to get a subscription to this so she can access the digital art courses. Might have to give it a try! It's not the first time Lynda has been recommended to me.
