WLAN keeps disconnecting

So i bought an ASUS PCE-N53 wireless network adapter and after doing some updates with the drivers and such, i am experiencing drops in my connection every 1-2 hours which would be fine if i wasn't trying to game or download stuff.

Wifi (wish i had a router) is through GoWifi (terrible military internet), I have a 10mbps DL and like 5 up.

Drivers are up to date (version 5.0.57.0)

i have tried DNS settings

I can not set a static ip

 

plez help.

Hi,

 

is that a USB network adapter? It could be caused by USB power management settings.

Nope, already figured that one out and returned the USB adapter and got the PCIe one.

So it's only signal drops, not the adapter disconnecting, correct?

 

(ASUS's FAQ for that card is very very very useful... random rant)

 

Let's hope someone more knowledgeable shows up.

lol yea, It drops off the current connection or goes from it's current state to connected without internet. in which i have to disable and re enable the adapter.
