Need help choosing a monitor.

SkyWarrior1030

Hello guys,

I am in the market for a new monitor, and I could not decide what monitor suited my workload (and gaming) best. I do quite a bit of photo editing, and use quite a bit of other productivity software like FLStudio. I also play games like CS:GO competitively. I also play single player RPG titles like Fallout 4 quite often as well.  I want a single monitor setup and I have a budget of $700 AUD. I currently have my eyes on the LG 34UM68-P 34in or the AOC AGON AG271QX 27in. I do want colour accuracy, as my workflow depends on it and I heard many good things about the AOC TN panel. I prefer panels not to be smaller than 27".

PS: I have a GTX 980 Classified @ 1535mhz and an i7 6700k.

Thanks.

I don't really want to have 4K panels because my GPU can't run more demanding titles at ultra settings. The ultrawide listed is the smaller version of the  LG 34UM68-P 34in which I currently have my eyes on.

Either that or the LG 29UM68-P 29" would work

Yeah, but about the 21:9 support for CS: GO... I do not really know what is more important to me. My colour accuracy or higher FPS.

The LG 34UC79G-B 34.0" looks pretty nice. I'll have to try find it for Australian stores though.

Yeah.  You could try and save an exta 600 aud to get an acer predator (super high quality imo)

Acer Predators in my price range are either 24" or have 4K displays, which I do not have the means to power. I think I should stick with the  LG 34UM68-P 34in. What's your opinion?

its full hd ips display.. 34 inch is way too wide.

meaning it will have large ppi resulting in less sharper image comparing too 24-27 inch.

I'm currently using two 1080p 27" displays. I don't mind the PPI at where I sit.

Well then if u do a bit of photoshop and cares about color accuracy then u better off with ips panel than TN. they have a better color reproduction, accuracy and consistency.

Yeah, I guess so. Are black bars on the side of the monitor annoying?

Black bars appear because of aspect ratio..

if the games doesnt support ultra wide 21:9 then it will appears.

Yeah. I know that, but are they annoying if I do get them on games that do not do well with 21:9?
