4k TV sluggish until HDMI cable reconnected

Urshult Haze

Monitor problem after reinstalling Win 10.
Have to disconnect and then connect the HDMI cable again to the Samsung 4k TV after every upstart. Or both the displays are sluggish… takes about 10 sec before the result of a mouse-click is visible or until the active windows is resized.

Changing the resolution to "whatever" and then back to native again also fixes the problem.

No change in hardware or software (apart from reinstalling everything).
Tried the 4 latest NVIDIA drivers and replaced the cable.
One 4k TV, one HD monitor. 4770k/Titan.

I don't have much experience with 4K TVs over HDMI, but I've heard about the notorious HDCP issues. Are you using HDCP by any chance? And if so, can you bypass it on the TV?

Thank you! Looked at the HDCP thing... but not much I can do there if I understand it right.

Now I change the resolution on the small monitor, press apply, both monitors flicker and then I just press cancel and all is fine... Guess I can live with that, but it´s irritating and so weird! I just happened... Think the last thing I did was to install "Rise of Flight"... but not sure. All was fine before that!
Please, any help much appreciated. Thanks!

(I update this if I find out what the problem is... Until then I´m still looking for an answer)

Waht was reason for reinstall windows? Might be other drivers maybe, but if it is HDCP related, a thing you can try is disconnect and factory reset the TV, then try again. But could be nothing, since I assume you don't have HDCP errors mentioned.

Try googling windows 10 HDCP, maybe there are things related to it, and is Windows already up to date then with latest stuff? Is resolution set to the native format?
