Camera Freezing

My Phone is Samsung S4 Active (I9295) Running on Kitkat (4.4.2)

 

My phone is 2 yearold, bought it brand new from a trusted store. The problem is, as I tried to take a picture, I opened my camera app and it acted unusual.

As you can see in the picture, It just showed a black screen. Its not cover the lenses. At first, I can still click things but after like 5 secs, the whole app freezes and it crashes like this:

This problem occured since last week. I researched some fixes for myself. I tried clearing camera app cache and its data, I wiped cache partition via recovery and even tried to factory reset it. But still nothing. I don't want to take it to the shop yet, I'm still looking for fixes.

Hmmm, this is a weird, might be a Software problem with the phone, have you looked out to anyone else that has the same phone/OS , if so are they Experiencing the same issue, Seeing similar problems with basic apps crashing. And have you also tried taking it back to the store?

I haven't seen any similar problems with my model. Only close, like the regular S4. Well if there's no more choice, I would take it to the store.

 

But I am planning to update my OS to Lollipop via Odin. Is it worth it? I am in a strict budget right now.

I just wanted to add that Lollipop isn't released in my country yet so I may have to use other regions.

Hmm, I mean it could be that it doesn't recognize there being a camera even in the phone

If that is the case you might need to get a new one if the camera is broken, but if it's say disconnected it might be "Easy" fix
