Youtube Red in Germany?

Hey guys, 

Youtube Red did not officially launch in Germany but I have to see Mindfield by Vsauce and I would be delighted if the ads are gone and the creators get some more money.

Is it possible to buy a Youtube Red subscription with something like tunnelbear and then use the side as usual without a VPN?

Hey, I looked into this last night.

 

My German friend wants YouTube Red for exactly the same series.

I'm in the UK.

 

But reading the ToS, you need to have your Address in the same Country as your Payment Method.

So I don't think you would be able to pay.

 

Even if you're using a VPN to pretend you're in the UK/US, as you would most likely be using a German payment method?

 

But if somehow you do manage to get your account activated,

It's possible that the videos themselves (once unlocked with Red) may still be blocked in non-Red countries.

Also possible that once your YouTube account is active on Red, you can watch the videos anywhere in the world.

 

TL:DR.

I don't think it's possible. But there may be a very slight chance that it is possible.

Thanks for the answer, I guess I will just try to pay with a VPN and if that does not work, it´s over pretty fast. If that works I hope I will not be defeated by videos that are region locked

Because it is a much higher production cost video.

I just downloaded Tunnelbear and activated the red subscription with a german credit card and some random US NY Zip-Code. Hope it works.

I mean all of his videos get millions of views. He would get at least 100.000$ every video.

It is working! 

 

Here´s the guide:
1. Get Tunnelbear, activate the US tunnel

2. Open a new instance of Chrome or something else and fire up Youtube.com

3. Click on the "Get youtube Red" on the top-left

4. Use your credit card as a payment method, PayPal will not work!

5. Enter "your" US Zip-Code. I used the NY one

6. Test if it is working and quit Tunnelbear
