Do I Need Intel Speedstep On?

My Dell OptiPlex 755 has a Intel Core 2 Duo with vPro Technology (E6750). According to Intel ARK, the processor supports SpeedStep and has the option in the BIOS to turn it on, though it's off by default. The computer is used in my bedroom for whatever task I need which is mostly use it for organizing files, surf the web and do school work on. Should I turn on SpeedStep, or is there a reason why Dell default the option to off?

speedstep allows the processor to dynamically change clock speed based on p-states and current and instantaneous workloads. basically it'll save power and reduce heat when you don't need it, such as web browsing. it's best to leave it enabled, but disabled if you're having issues with the CPU not scaling during intensive workloads or overclocking.

Well, the computer will struggle sometimes, but works fine, so I'll just leave it on.
