First Time Building

SteinerWoW

Hello. First time poster and builder.

I am building a pc for gaming, teaching my kids to code, and partly as a media center to cut the cord. Nothing dramatically intensive. I primarily play World of Warcraft, but may play more demanding games in the future.

I don't need peripherals or OS.

I am posting my build below. I'm on a limited budget. I started out with a build price of $550 and talked myself into a more expensive CPU and GPU bringing the price above $700. I won't have money down the road to upgrade, so I want to get the right build right now that will last as my usage needs grow. But at the same time I want to make sure I'm getting good cost vs performance.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Your case may come with 2 stock fans, but check up on that, you might not need to spend that extra money on case fans (I don't reckon you need 5 fans if you intend to buy those as extras). You might want other fans than the stock ones though, let me know.

Also, you could save yourself $10 on the PSU. It's a really good PSU that you've chosen, but those 10 bucks might give you better performance than the 1050ti for example. A SeaSonic 520W will be plenty of wattage (even if you're interested in overclocking the GPU).

Also, as mentioned in the first reply, don't go AMD until Ryzen has been released. It'll make the prices of the rest of AMD's products go down, so you can wait and save some money for the price drop or go Intel (the better one lol) and get your PC right now since Intel already have released Kaby Lake, which didn't make much of a difference in pricing of their CPU's.

Otherwise, good luck with your build :D
