I just got a Samsung 840Pro 128gb ssd and I'd like to know how I'd transfer my copy of windows 8 onto it. Can the software allow me to do that or do i need to reinstall windows 8?

If you have any experience with Linux, you can use dd to copy all of the data over bit per bit. If not, then there are disk cloning utilities that can do this with a nice graphical interface.

I would recommend doing a clean install, though. That way, your fancy new SSD isn't cluttered from the beginning.

Enjoy the speed ;)

Thank you so much, I've built many systems now but just now am I getting into SSD's lol, little late in the game. Thanks though I'll start with a fresh install.

Just a little warning: once you've experienced the speeds of SSDs, you'll *never* (and I really mean NEVER) want to work on a machine with a hard drive :p
