Swapping 2 keys

Hi,

 

Please help. I want to swap the alt key and windows key on my PC keyboard so that it works more closely to the Mac layout.

 

I'm a long time Mac user and will continue to be at work but I've recently purchased a PC for home. I'm happy working on both systems except for the slight difference when using short cuts.

 

I've looked into various options, SharpKeys, KeyTweak and Microsofts keyboard layout software but none of them seem to allow a straight forward swap.

 

If anyone has any ideas or a tutorial they can point me towards that would be fantastic.

Try autohotkey: https://autohotkey.com/ The two keys you're trying to rebind/remap are no ordinary keys in windows. I'm not at all surprised that you're having trouble messing with them specifically.

Hi, Thank you for the quick response, I'll take a look now. I appreciate they're not normal keys but as I would be retaining their functionality on the keyboard and would only be changing their location I was hoping it maybe possible. I can't be the only Mac user with a muscle memory issues.
