My Specs:

  • CPU: i74770k
  • Motherboard: Asus maximus viii formula
  • Ram: 16gb DDR3 Corsair
  • GPU: GTX980 MSI
  • PSU: Corsair CX750m
  • OS: Windows 10 latest version (as of 1-13-17)

This computer has been running fine without error until this. What is happening is that after a shutdown I cannot get the computer to turn back on. When I push the power button The computer lights up and all the fans spin (even GPU fans) but nothing happens. My keyboard and mouse do not light up and my monitor never recognizes a signal. I have had this happening for the past few days(since last Wednesday). Something I also notice with this happening is that my fans connected to the motherboard appear to be running faster than idle speeds. I have been able to get the computer to boot twice from this state but it was just through dozens of restarts hoping it would. I have also tried resetting the CMOS from a button on the rear io of the motherboard.

So if anyone has an answer I would very much appreciate it.

Here is a video of what it does:

Perhaps you're having issues with a PSU that's going bad? Happen to have a second one on hand, or have a friend that you could borrow from to test replacing it?

I actually replaced the PSU 3 weeks ago. So I do not suspect it. Went from CX750 to a CX750m. I also mentioned I have been ale to get the computer to boot twice and ran it under load and it ran fine.

Maybe try the RAM next? Pull it all out except one stick and see if you get it to post? Swap them around to see if one causes it to not boot. That'd be my next suspicion. After testing RAM, it goes on to being suspicious of mobo or cpu, which is no fun to have to replace.

Alright so i tried removing all but one stick of ram but no luck. I also tried running integrated graphics from the motherboard but had no luck. I even removed the GPU.
