memory channels

Hi,,,I have an asus rampage v edition 10 motherboard and it supports quad channel DIMM system and it has 8 slots,,,i don't have the budget to fill all 8 of them so i decided to buy 4 8GB sticks to fill 4 of them (total 32GB),,,I thought i could use the quad channel feature as long as i fill at least 4 of the slots but then i checked the Gskill site for choosing the sticks (ripjaws v 3200 is the one i want) and according to their site all the quad channel kits have 8 sticks and 4 stick kits are considered dual channel,,,now i'm a little bit confused,,,does quad channel has to be 8 sticks or the Gskill site said this just for the sake of kit completion?

If you run 4 DIMMs on the motherboard, they will run on quad channel.

But you could you know, return that motherboard, get something reasonable and then you'd be able to afford the 8 DIMM kit

 thanks for the reply,,,i got your point about the budget thing but you know i already spent too much on other components such as the motherboard and now at the end i've spent more than i've planned and because the RAM is a component that i can add to it in future i decided to go with 4 stck choice...again thanks for instant help
