Switching to ssd

Hey! I want to get a new HDD and put my OS (windows 10) on an ssd So... i am using a hard drive from my old pc, witch was built by someone else and who ever made my pc put everything on one partition.. is there an easy way to put my OS on a separate drive and copy everything else to a newer hdd?

As far as i know thats rather complicated and would be easyer to copy all super nessesary things to a usb or external hard drive and do a fresh install.

I would install the new SSD and then continue to install Windows. Then I would purchase a Hard Disk Drive Enclosure and Copy any important data to the new drive then remove the old drive and install the new hard drive.

Once the OS is installed and partitioned a certain way it's difficult to reconfigure without risking data loss.
