I'm not sure which model you are replacing, as searching for it doesn't give a page on the manufactures site. i would note here that some of their products use a mini 4-pin xlr rather than the standard 3 pin xlr for microphones, so clarification on which of those you need would also help.

 

As for recommending a mic under $50, the newer NW-700 is currently ~$23 with mount is ~$36 although it is a condenser mic so will need phantom power (+48V). For a non condenser mic you could pick up a used PG58 off ebay or you may find a cheap sm58 for around $50, replacement grilles can be found easily and cheaply.
