Hi I've been saving up and deciding which parts to buy to put in my first ever PC Build. I'm Canadian but going over to the United States to buy it because its so much cheaper  ;) (HAVEN'T bought anything yet)

So far I have narrowed down this:

AMD FX-6300

EVGA Geforce GTX 760 2GB Edition

8GB of ram (1600mhz)

1TB Western Digital Black Hard drive.

700 watt OCZ Powersupply

Windows 7

MSI 970A-G46 AMD 9 Series Motherboard

Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid Tower ATX Case

Asus DRW- 24B1ST 24X Internal DVD Burner

Please note- I have a Samsung 1600x900 monitor

My main goal is:

to reach 60 fps on maxed out settings on Star Wars the Old Republic

My other goals are:

to reach 60 fps on high or ultra settings on Planetside 2

to reach 60 fps on maxed out settings on Guild Wars 2

to reach 60 fps on High- Ultra settings on Battlefield 4

Now to the reason I made this the CPU, I've been wondering what to do about this and here are the options

Either I just buy the AMD FX 6300 Six Core 3.5ghz or I spend the extra $40 and get the AMD FX 8320 Eight Core 3.5ghz? I really dont have the money in my budget  to get an I5 3570K so either one of these cpu's are my destiny lol.

Will getting the AMD FX-8320 with the two extra cores increase my fps? Will increase the performance of my build. Any Suggestions and any help at all about the CPU is greatly appreciated!

Specs:  CPU- AMD FX 8320 @ 3.5Ghz Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 GPU -EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked  RAM- 16GB 1600MHz (4x4)  HD- Western Digital Blue Hard Drive 1TB  PSU - Corsair CX 750M Case: Corsair 300R OS-  Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2013 Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Edition 2013

I'd go for the Intel, especially if your games rely on per-core. If not, definitely get the 8320.

You could go 8320 if you want. Are you planning to overclock at all? If you are I would swap that board out for an Asus m5a97 board.

then stick with the same board and if you want a cpu upgrade go full balls to the walls 8350 cause no point in an 8320.

No, stick with the FX-6300, it's fine. If you're going to spend 40-50 dollars more you better spend them switching that GTX 760 for an R9 280X, you'll get much better performance.I

I'm a Nvidia Fan for Graphics Card I want Physx and Shadowplay (My Geforce Experience) and all the cool things they offer.

Well currently that all comes to $918.15 (includes all the parts and shipping) so the extra $40 will be my mark.

Is the 0.5ghz difference worth an extra  $40 (FX 8320 VS  FX 8350)?

GTX 760 works better with AMD CPUs but nontheless FX 6300 will bottleneck GTX 760 a bit.

I'd get a cheapest i5 (i5-4430/4440) + H87-G43 motherboard + GTX 660ti or GTX 760 (if you like Nvidia). You will have much higher frames per second.

Yes, you'll get with about 5fps less in games, but if you want those features.. ;)

and I don't have any clue what  you're trying to say about that cpu cooler

If you don't plan to get any SLI/Crossfire anyway, this is a good cheap supply:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx500

If you want to shell out a bit more for a more quality of a supply:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/ocz-power-supply-oczzt550w

but the same wattage.

You won't need more than 500w power supply if you dont have at least 2 GPUs and you aren't overclocking CPU (you cannot overclock i5 4440).

I don't recommend OCZ powersupplies, Linus's 1000W Gold certified OCZ powersupply was the primary cause for the coil-buzz with the GTX Titan.

A locked Intel i5 will not last you very long and they're unjustifiably more expensive than the FX 6300 or FX 8320.
Get an Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard, pair it with an FX 8320, you can run your FX 8320 at FX 8350 speeds without any additional voltage, simply by going into the BIOS and bumping the multiplier.

i'll believe it when I see it.

Planetside 2 currently runs like shit on everything but Intel is faster. Their main problem was NOT making this game use multiple threads and they are working on making it more multithreaded... except they've been trying to optimise it since it came out and to no avail.

You're golden for High/Ultra settings in 1080p with this setup.

You could get a bit cheaper B85 motherboard if you wanted as well to save 10-20$ but you'd probably lose a few USB ports and stuff.
