UPlay FPS Limit

So like a lot of people I downloaded AC3 from ubisoft for free as part of their promotion but for some reason no matter what I do the FPS seems to be limited to 60FPS, is this something I can disable or is no one else having this issue ? Also is there any way I can transfer this game over to steam so I can have more control over in game settings, ubisoft seems to really limit what you can do graphically.

No, it's a uplay exclusive, and as for the fps capping i dont know, but I dont see why people mind 60 fps capped, thats a high enough fps where it doesnt matter. (unless its a game like csgo)

I'm pretty sure the limit is controlled by either the game or settings in the background (GeForce Experience or AMD's thing) so I doubt UPlay is messing with anything.  And unless you have a high hz monitor there's no need for more than 60 fps; even if you do 60 fps is fine.

Honestly it's a matter of pride I just recently joined the PC Master race and this is my first major title that is not League of Legends or mine craft so I was looking forward to seeing that nice FPS number haha

Someone said somewhere else that it might be Vsync that is causing the 60fps limit because of my monitor does anyone know how to turn it off in uplay ?

VSync would be a option in the in-game video settings, not in the Uplay client. Or I think in explorer, go to Documents->assassins creed III->Assassin3

Look for the line Vsync=1 and change to Vsync=0

It's not when I'm in game there is only resolution, enviroment, effects, shadows, and anti aliasing

There are 3 assassin's creed 3 files one launches the same and the other have sp  or mp at the end which I'm guessing is for single and multilayer

Are you sure you're looking in the right folder? It's not in the game installation folder, it is in your computer's documents folder

 

It should be Documents/Assassins Creed III/Assassin3.ini

hmm that's weird. Well the only way to disable vsync is to edit that file. Try to verify the game files on Uplay and it might fix it not being there.
