so... i did this thing and bought a 1070 from asus at a online retailer, i choose the white dual model for the size, but they send me the strix model, witch is like 3 cm longer, i got this old thermaltake v9 black x edition http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model_gallery.aspx?id=C_00001627

in the web thermaltake claims that it will support the old radeon 5970 with her 12" or 30,48cm length, but i find it difficult to try fitting the strix card of 29,7cm, is there any way to remove the floppy disk enclosure? in the image you can see the card placed but without all the wires from the docking bays that adds extra obstacles, anyone still have this case? or should i change the card for a msi gaming x with 27.9 cm length?

The only way to remove the floppy cage is to cut it out with an angle grinder.

But strix should fit inside, yes it will be a close fit, but should be ok.
