GTX 1070 installation

Hello again,

So I've just ordered my 1070, unfortunately not the one that was up on amazon for 330 this morning.

At the moment I have the 6850 installed, an amd card and obviously im installing a Nvidia card now.

How will I go about installing the drivers? Will I use DDU to uninstall the drivers then put the 1070 in, my only problem is will I get a display with out the drivers or what will I need to do?

Also I'd be very thankful if anyone can link me some useful programs for 1070's, I purchased an Asus Strix 1070 if that helps/.

Yes first use DDU. You should get it w/o drivers

Reinstall drivers then install GPU. You will be able to get your display working but on low resolution which is enough just to install new drivers. By the way,if anything goes wrong you can use iGPU from CPU if you have it.

I think I may have disabled that though how do I renable it?

You probably won't need it but i just said IF you don't get picture with new card and uninstalled AMD drivers (1% of this happening) just switch your monitor cable to motherboard and you will get picture from the iGPU.

Use DDU to completely remove the AMD drivers. Shut down and install the new GPU. Windows will load some random default drivers for the 1070. Just go get the latest ones from the Nvidia website. You shouldn't run into any issues.
