Buying a new CPU

Originally, I got a i7-6700k.

I would like to buy a new CPU from kaby lake sell the old one but don't know which one I should choose.

I want to earn the difference between 2 CPUs to buy other stuff.

My requirement is at least 4 threads, and the socket is LGA1151 because I don't want to buy a new motherboard.

May you guys give us some ideas for it?

The only upgrade from 6700k is the 7700k.  Otherwise you'd need to upgrade the motherboard to x99.

Do keep in mind that the upgrade from 6700k to 7700k is a very small upgrade that you will not be able to notice.  At all.

Must you have Kaby Lake? The 6700k is rock solid, and there is a 1-2% difference between the two, probably non-existant in games. If you want to upgrade, I'd wait till cannon lake (I think that's what it's called) in Q3-4 of 2017. Maybe AMD's pressure will help Intel kick up performance.

Kabylake made (literally) 0 IPC improvement over Skylake. Kabylake chips are essentially factory overclocked skylakes. Don't buy Kabylake, just overclock your skylake.

The 7700K is the direct replacement for the 6700K, but the only difference is that the 7700K comes at 4.2 GHz base and 4.5 GHz boost out of the box. That's easily matched with a 6700K. Performance per clock is unchanged:

Basically, this is not an advisable purchase. :P
