How to upgrade to Win 8.1 and keep all data + programs

eric95204

i got a win 7 machine and i've been looking at some benchmarks and now i want to upgrade to windows 8.1. i got a 3tb drive partition into a 100gb (os) ans a 2.63tb (programs and files). Installing windows on it was a hassle, is there a simple way to upgrade without losing any of my data?

Upgrade to 8 First. It's free to upgrade to 8.1 from 8. and i guarantee it's you're cheapest, save all your data, easiest way to go.

Another option is you could buy 8.1 and go to install it, however when given the opportunity to do a fresh install or Upgrade. just hit upgrade. should keep all your data.
