Reflashing GAPPS

Go to solution Solved by _ASSASSIN_,

Maybe CWM is different on your phone. The CWM on my GNex doesn't do that. Once I select it, it says "This will delete all your user data". http://youtu.be/nb_MweQpGbQ?t=2m48s which of course means all the apps and system settings.

Anyways I guess I'll just redo everything.

oh well that sucks

I just updated my Vanir ROM to 4.3 and I flashed GAPPS from this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2378992

The problem is that the clock crashes, so I'm currently downloading the CM10.2 GAPPS http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps

Can I just wipe the davik cache and reflash it? Or do I have to delete data/factory reset :(?

factory reset it perfectly fine, you are supposed to do it, it just wipes user data, go and factory reset, then flash the GAPPS, and then go and clear cache partition and dalvik cache

Yeah I know. The problem is, I've already restored all my apps with Titanium Backup and edited the autobrightness with the values I like. I don't wanna do that all over again, which I will, if I wipe data/factory reset :(. Would flashing the CM10.2 GAPPS over the first one I linked, then wiping the dalvik cache give me any troubles later?

Hmm..CWM 6.0.3.6 doesn't seem to have just that option. It does both. When I go to the "mounts and storage" options, there's a format /system option. Would that work? Or should I just give up on it and flash TWRP

This is what i see. I guess I'll just try TWRP. It'll save me the trouble if this situation pops up again. Thanks for the help btw.

DUDE IT'S RIGHT THERE, IN DATA/FACTORY RESET

go in there and choose factory reset

Maybe CWM is different on your phone. The CWM on my GNex doesn't do that. Once I select it, it says "This will delete all your user data". http://youtu.be/nb_MweQpGbQ?t=2m48s which of course means all the apps and system settings. It doesn't allow me to select JUST the factory reset, like I said in my previous post.

Anyways I guess I'll just redo everything.
