So I want to build a smaller rig. It's no secret that people are drifting further and further from large cases especially given the improvements in power consumption and thermal performance. I too am feeling the call of smaller rigs feeling that they offer a more flexible and more satisfying finished product. That isn't to say building them is at all easier and in some ways is a lot harder. However for me the one thing I'm finding is that I'm really just being stricken with vain opinions over most smaller cases. They all just look ugly in some way to me. So instead of buying something I'll be complaining about, I want to design a custom case that will satisfy my needs and wants.

My plan would be to meld together my three preferred cases into a single one that borrows from them all in one way or another. Here I've listed the cases and given my reasons for liking each one. (Sentry, Pc-05, and Evolv ATX TG): http://imgur.com/gallery/G1zjy

Now my only real issue is finding a layout that wont cause issues with cables and will also look nice. Any advice on build materials and things to keep in mind while designing things and suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advanced!

[Note: I have also made this post on reddit and figured I'd reach out to as many people as possible hence why I'm posting this here too.]
