xbox controller issues on pc!

So I bought an xbox one controller off of my friend, but when playing fps games my guy keeps looking up without me even touching the joystick. I think it is also known as controller drift. Although it's not extremely noticeable it's still very annoying for a frequent gamer like me. Does anyone have a fix?

I assume you are using Windows 10 as written in signature.

Does the issue also occur on another PC?

 

Might need a device reinstallation (remove it from Device Manager, unplug and plug it back in). Or the controller could be slightly faulty.

I don't have any other pc to try it on, but I will try your second step.

This was a common problem with Xbox One controllers when they released. It has something to do with the balance of the joystick on where it sits, causing it to look up. I had this problem with my Xbox One controller and fixed when I just bought a new one.

So I reinstalled the controller and the problem persists. Will I have to open up the controller?

If you look up "Xbox One controller looking up Fix" there are videos showing you how to fix
