Hard drive not recognized

Jbreezy2322

I have a 3TB Toshiba mechanical hard drive in my rig. It is recognized in the BIOS but when in windows it doesn't show up. It is a completely bare drive. How do I get it to show up?

As @jato_127 said, you will need to launch Disk Management and mark the drive as active.

To open Disk Management, press Windows key and R, and in the dialog box that appears, type diskmgmt.msc

You will get a window that has all your present drives installed in your PC.

Right-click on the inactive partition that will be the 3TB drive, and go through the prompts to be able to use the drive so it appears in This PC.

Hope this helps!
