This is my first time building a PC myself using some old parts from a hand me down old computer I had and some new ones I purchased. I thought it went pretty well, it booted perfectly the first time but I'm starting to notice some quite noticeable issues.

Parts:

Motherboard: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0165YUDTM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ram: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UVN2C8O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

CPU: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0136JONRM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

GPU: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-750Ti-Graphics-02G-P4-3753-KR/dp/B00IDG3IDO/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1483134679&sr=1-2&keywords=gtx+750+ti

Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073

First I have a few simple problems to explain, I have 3 usb ports on the front panel of my case but my motherboard only has one 2.0 header and 1 3.0 header. I have these both used and still have one inactive port on the front panel (math). Is there anyway I can split it or something? I need another usb 2.0 port and I guess I want to know if its possible to do without buying a new motherboard.

I'm having this same issue with system fans, I only have 1 system fan port on the board, is it possible I can hook more to the power supply or somewhere else? I have a modular power supply but couldn't find any connectors that supported the port needed for the fans.

Okay now on to the confusing thing, I noticed this a bunch in CS:GO and normal windows. Sometimes my computer will just randomly freeze, my mouse will move and when I move over icons they respond but when I click on them they all start to stop responding. It gets worse in CS:GO, whenever I die or try to open the menus it does that weird sound loop thing and stays frozen until a decent while when it fixes itself. It occurs less in normal operation and can happen randomly (I haven't really figured out what is causing it). This never happened with my old PC (Old athlon 6000+). The only parts I used that were the same from my old build were the hard drive and the graphics card, everything else is new. I was wondering if any of you might know what is causing this.

Thanks in advance! If you need pictures or any statistics etc. on stuff related to the weird system not responding I can provide

According to gigabytes product page for you mobo it's supports up to 4 front USB ports, 2 for each header (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5589#sp)

since you motherboard has only 1 CHA header (chassis fan) you can only hook up 1 system fan, you can't hook it up to your psu.

Main PC:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D | RAM:Corsair LPX 3200 mhz (32GB)

Mobo:ASUS Strix B550-F Wifi | GPU: Gigabyte 9070

Case: Sharkoon Nightshark RGB| Storage: 500 GB 970 EVO Plus 1 TB WD blue 500 GB Samsung HDD

Monitor: iiyama G-Master G2470HSU-B1 165Hz

Powersupply: Cooler Master GX III Gold 750

Main Laptop

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 4800H | RAM: Team group 16 GB 2666 mhz

GPU: RTX 2060 (MXM swappable)

Monitor: 1080p 120Hz

Storage: 2x 1 TB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (no raid)

Second Laptop

CPU: Intel Core I5 1235u,  RAM: Crucial 16 GB 3200 mhz

GPU: IrisXe 80 eu

Storage: 512 GB WD Digital SN530 NVMe

Phone:

Yes, my front panel technically has 4 ports I just tried to simplify it for you. I have 1 connector that manages 2 of the 3 usb 2.0 ports on the front. Another connector that manages the last usb 2.0 port and the last connector is for the usb 3.0 port on the front. The 2 usb 2.0 ports are fine but they use up the 1 2.0 connector and the 1 usb3.0 cable used the 1 usb3.0 connector leaving 1 usb2.0 port without a connection.

Hi,

  1. USB issues - Usually the case will have one internal USB plug that goes to multiple USB ports on the front of the case (think USB hub) so unless you have a spare USB cable to plug in this will be an issue with the case. If you do have spare USB cable that needs to be plugged in you can buy pcie to USB card to get more internal USB headers.
  2. Fan Issues - You will need a fan hub. This will plug into the single case fan header on your motherboard and to you PSU (ether molex or sata) and give you lots of places to plug fans in.
  3. Freezing issues - I do not know but I would run some overclocking stability testing software to see it you can pin point your stability issues.

So for the USB one of them could possibly be broken because IIRC one header powers two ports. You could also get fan splitters to plug them into one fan port on the Mobo or get something like this (https://www.moddiy.com/products/Premium-Sleeved-4%2dPin-Molex-to-4-x-3%2dPin-Fan-Splitter-Cable-(UV-Pink).html?gclid=CjwKEAiAqJjDBRCG5KK6hq_juDwSJABRm03hMZxK5hwZDdouGiX8e3IU-_dRz4hA77NfsrjcctxrDBoCW0fw_wcB) so you can plug them into the PSU. But I don't know about the windows issue.

Thanks for this feedback. Can you suggest a fan hub you would recommend for me? I have 4 case fans total. What overclocking stability testing software would you also recommend, my cpu is not overclocked btw but not sure if that has any relevance.

Thanks, I'll look into a product like that.

I Have not done stability testing recently so I do not know what people are using these days but I use to use Prime 95 but you will probably want something with better error messages.

Your computer not being overclocked does not have anything to do with it. It is just that stability testing software is usually written for overclockers as that are the people who are most likely to run into issues.

Hey guys, just giving the final results for anyone who cares.

Problem 1. USB issues, found out there is this thing: https://www.nzxt.com/products/internal-usb-hub

Don't really think its worth it so i probably wont be buying but at least there is a solution.

Problem 2. Fans, found this fan hub I will likely get: https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-System-Cables-Black-CPF04/dp/B00VNW556I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483480879&sr=8-1&keywords=fan+hub

Problem 3. Weird freezing, turns out I had a faulty hard drive from my old build. Noticed a lot of windows files corrupting so I ended up purchasing an 525gb crucial mx300 SSD (didn't want to buy a new drive for this PC but I can tell you it was well worth it, SSD and Hard Drive speeds wont affect game play but overall windows usage feels extremely quick). Fixed all issues, found a way to use the other Hard drive as a backup but probably wont.

Thanks for the help guys, these issues have been solved!
