Noob problem with standoffs

just do this, line up the holes on your board and remove the rest. They may be tough to get out, but you seem very paranoid so save some peice of mind and only use the 6

Yeah I had to look at the motherboard again. You are correct. Some of them have all the holes horizontally parallel, like this one looks like it is. Then, the micro atx board I built with I had to do what I highlighted. 

Don't worry guys I have managed to remove the standoff which was in the way thanks to a handy tool thanks for your help

and i spelled "peice" wrong i think, maybe not, i dunno, its early and the coffee hasnt taken effect yet...or am i just being PARANOID?  lol
