just in case any of you were planning on getting a gtx 1050, and want some more info here ya go.

in most games that i play (CS:GO, overwatch, Rust, Dead by daylight, and H1Z1:KOTK) my gpu usage was sitting at 20-30% during CS:GO and Overwatch, and around 50% during the others.. Keep in mind that I have a g3258 OC'd to 4.4ghz and i think its something allot of others have at this gpu price point, so keep that in mind when you buy it. Unless you play very graphically intensive games like witcher 3 (which keeps it at 70% + all the time) you really wont get the most out of it. Now i knew this before i bought it, and planned to get an i5 4440 very shortly after however we are having finance problems right now so that isnt a possibility. Coming from a 550ti, and using a 1360x768 monitor, it is a big improvement, however i would recommend going for a gtx 760 if you have a g3258 and cant afford to also get an i5. Especially if you play on a monitor like mine.

please take this with a grain of salt though because like i said i have a 1360x768 monitor and the gpu usages could vary if you play 1080p (double the pixels of 768p) which in theory would make the gpu usage double but i doubt it.

8700k/1070ti/16gb ram

Low GPU usage might be because you capped the framerate or have vsync

nope, my monitor is at 75hz and have vsync disabled in every game i play and fps uncapped.

Is CPU usage high when GPU usage is low?

100% pretty much every game so yea.

Yeah it won't hurt to turn down CPU-intensive settings like shadows and particles. Tweaking settings will help you get the most out of your GPU

hmm i didnt really think about that. I'll give it a shot! (to be fair in competitve games like h1z1 and csgo i already have lowest settings but might help in other games!) do u have any other settings taht are cpu intensive?

Physics, draw distance / LOD (turning it way down may give you a disadvantage in games)

H1Z1 is already a pretty badly optimized mess so it makes sense that the CPU is always pegged at 100%

Rust is also really CPU heavy I hear

well, it works to a degree. It only makes my game look better however, not get more fps (which is what i need lol) but i guess its as good as i can get with this setup.

still my point stands, if u have a budget cpu like mine and cant upgrade it get something along the lines of a gtx 760

760 and 1050 should have similar performance

You could try to push the overclock on the pentium a bit
