Never router/modem recommendations

I'm looking for a router/modem combo for a friend. He would like "Something cheap that gets the job done". Needs to take In a phone line

From a quick glance at the compatible modems the Actiontec C1000A should do the trick for pretty cheap if your friend is willing to get it off ebay, otherwise its 160 bucks new. Not sure what speeds are needed though so maybe take a look here: http://internethelp.centurylink.com/internethelp/modem-compatibility-table.html and compare with what your friend is getting now. Had a hard time finding a lot of the modems as being sold anywhere so they might not come cheap.

Is that a router/modem combo? Also I think it is like 10Mbps

Yah, it says it's a router/modem combo. Depending on the type of internet, ADSL, ADSL+, etc will depend on the speed.
