Windows 7 BSoD on me while installing it

I have a Pentium 4 PC (just got it from one of my brothers friend). I just wanted to test how CS:GO would run on it (and play retro games on it). When installing Windows 7, when hitting the "installing updates" section, it BSoD with the warning "registry error". Does someone know what I can do?

 

Specifications:

Pentium 4

2.5 GB DDR 400 ram

ATI radeon x1550

500 + 250GB WD and Seagate harddrives

There was an issue with the registry during installation of the OS core components

Do you think a retry would fix this, or do you have a other suggestion to fix this?

Does the OS just BSOD every time you try to boot it now? Or was it that one time?

Nope, only when I installed it. When I boot it after, it freezes at the Windows 7 boot animation. I haven't tried reinstalling it yet.

There's definitely a permanent issue going on there. You can try going into the Windows 7 installation again and instead of installing click 'Repair my computer'

If it finds the registry is broken it should fix it. If the repair process doesn't find any issues then it's most likely gone for good. You'd have to make a reinstall at that point

The "Repair my computer" setting didn't find anything to fix, so I will try to reinstall Windows when I get to the PC. Thank you.
