Please help

The Potato

Recently I purchased an EVGA 750w g2 to replace the PSU that came bundled with my case (below)

(https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=28400&gclid=Cj0KEQjwtO2wBRCu0d2dkvjVi5cBEiQAMEIVGWKe405HPp59lLHJXpHT4Xwqo5Yifo6qKTP944uic2EaAsuJ8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds)

When I installed it into my system https://pcpartpicker.com/list/z7Gf8K i left the room for Christmas dinner, i returned to a burnt smell and then my PC just shut off. now that PSU would not even start the computer (my mobo would show its power light to show that it has power then i would push the button and it would attempt to start, the cpu LED would light up the cpu fan starts spinning but that all stops after a second)

I thought it was dead so i bought the corsair CX750M to replace it, but it does the same thing. the strangest thing of all is that my old psu still runs my PC just fine

All help would be much apreciated
