wow. a quad core current generation amd only just caught up to a 4 generations old i7.(just kidding. im not an intel or amd fanboy. they both have strengths and weaknesses.)

The socket 2011 chips are not really I7 consumer parts, if you really want to split hairs the socket 2011 chips are the binned own leftovers of the Xeon chips. It technically is a server chip thats marketed as a standard desktop processor.

i think he meant an 1155 socket like the 4770k. in which case they are comparable although the i7 does beat it 9 times out of 10
