What are these things for

Hi guys i have a simple question to ask you,I was looking at my friends new motherboard (it's a chineese one he got from Ebay) and I noticed it had this kind of "cluged holes" in it, could you please tell me what are they, I mean should the holes be like that or not, here is a picture to help you inderstand what I mean .

Its for a m.2 or msata ssd, but not soldered in. Its screw mounts.

So those holes shouldn't be like that, they should be unclogged

They are so cheap ,and he mountes cheap computers and sells them

It's mini PCIe/msata not m.2. Don't you guys know your obscure ports? Mini pcie is normally used for wireless cards.

We are not talking about the mini pcie, look at the picture ,we are talking about the two holes next to the mini pcie

The holes are used to screw the cards in place. If they are clogged up then that slot isn't active.

so no need to unclog them while there is no card there,right ?

They aren't wired.

Anyway this is standard practice in the IT industry but it's extreme with cheap mass produced boards. It's cheaper to make 100,000 of a single board then it is to make 10 different boards of 10,000 each.
