Long story short,

I ordered the z623 from Logitech and after two days the subwoofer started smoking and nearly started a fire. I loved the sound and the bass and I want a replacement for around the same price ($200 after tax, Canadian)

So if you guys have any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Criteria: must be plug and play setup

P.s. do you guys think I just got a faulty unit and should give Logitech a second chance? Or was it simply a piss poor quality product to begin with.

You were given a faulty unit.

I personally know 3 friends who've all had loud boisterous house parties using just the Logitech z623 system ALONE to blast an entire house with booming audio. None of their speakers caught fire or exploded, even after having a glass of Wine spilled on the control/right speaker. Give them a second chance, and maybe buy a set at a local shop, like say at a Staples location near you.

WAIT FOR A SALE though - these speakers go on sale for $129 CAD regularly.

If you can wait for boxing week, do it. I'm almost certain they'll be on sale for $129 everwhere, and not just Best Buy.

damn that sounds really bad its up to you personally i had a sony soundbar and had been fine with it but a fire is a bit extreme.

I was initially more interested in a soundbar solution but I was flamed pretty heavily for suggesting that it could provide decent audio
