Is it safe to keep the fan speed on my 1080 FTW at 40% idle? I'm running the aggressive fan curve, it stays at 40% all the time and speeds up from that point depending on the load.

I just don't want to damage the fans and considering i keep my PC on for about 15 hours straight every day i thought it might harm them.

Does your card have a 0DB mode where the fans are off when idling?

I don't know what is that or how to enable it. The fans are at 40% at all times if idling. They speed up from that point depending on the load. 40c-50%, 50c-60%, 60c-70%, 70c-90%, 80c-100%

You can set 0DB mode in any overclocking program.

They might wear out faster, but it also depends on how dusty your room is. You could also do some regular maintainance. (find some instructions how to lube up fans) I have got some stock 80x80 fans, always running at max speed. Every 6 months, I add some oil, and they will last many years.

Hope this advice/info is usefull.

It's just the factory installed fan curve and it is overwritten by your custom one. 0dB mode just means that the fans aren't spinning up until about 60°C.

I guess my room is a little bit dusty, but i really don't mind opening my case every month and dust them off with compressed air, i kinda enjoy doing it. However, i might set the fan curve to stay at 0% fan speed up until 50c.
