Do you Max out all your games?

I usually just skeptically max out the settings to see if i get either 10 fps or 20 fps. Then I do a med-high mix and cross my fingers hoping for that smooth 60. If that isnt possible ill lower everything else to medium except textures. If that isnt enough ill put shadows and maybe lighting to low and cry myself to sleep the next night.
