MP3 Player Suggestions?

Do people still use these? Looking to get an MP3 player to listen to music while at work. Only real requirement is that it must not have a camera on it. Ideally I would like something with removable memory (32gb non-removable storage minumum), has bluetooth capability for wireless headphones, and preferably not an Apple product. I have no desire to be tied to iTunes.

I think most people just use their phones

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

You could take out the camera fairly easily, depending on the phone.

I assume the no camera requirement is why you cannot use your phone for this?

Sony still makes them but they are way more expensive than I thought they would be.

When in doubt, re-format.

I know it's not really relevant and none of my business, but that's just so weird, I have to ask... why?

Yup. Just the quick search I did yielded a lot of ipod knock of looking things promising the world for $15 haha

I could. A few coworkers have done this with their work phones. I believe the regulation it has to be obvious to a passerby that the camera is disabled, and it may have to be approved by our security coordinator.

Correct. Price isn't a huge issue, but I'd rather not pay more than $150. Kind of looking like my options are an old ipod, a sony, or a sandisk.

Would attaching some electrical tape to the camera to cover it be enough?

Check out the SanDisk clip sport, it meets all the other requirements other than Bluetooth.

Add on a 3.5 to Bluetooth transmitter and you meet all the requirements.

Your only cheap option is Sansa's Clip. Or something from some no-name brand you never heard of. Sony does have a $50 option though. Otherwise FiiO, Sony, and another company make $300+ ones.

Haha no worries. We handle sensitive information that isn't releasable to anyone without a need to know. It's not too bad though, while in the "field", I've often been in spaces in which you are not allowed any "personal electronic device" at all. Meaning any electronic device that has memory is not allowed. This even includes things like smart watches, fitbits, etc. I think a digital watch is ok though as long as it's memory storage capacity is below a certain amount.

Nope! Camera has to be permanently disabled. The preferred method is to drill out the cameras, and epoxy over them. Physically removing the camera is an option too.

Looks like I'll probably go with the SanDisk clip to try out. Seems like a good compromise. Bluetooth was really only a wishlist item since I'm thinking of getting a pair of Bose QC35s (ANR to drown out the guy who sits next to me...seriously one of the most intolerable and incompetent person I have ever met).

Thanks for the suggestions!
