if you already HAVE a 3770k , then upgrading to skylake isn't worth it imo . However , if this is for a new build , get the i5 6600k .

But i would still wait for ryzen considering it seems to be less than a month away.

will ryzen be less than 350 pounds with a motherboard cpu- that will outperform a 6600k and 16gb ram?

If not I'd rather get a decent skylake setup

we have no idea . 4-6 core SKU's with SMT might

But intel prices will go down all the same

If you already have a mobo that can take a 3770K, then that's the cheaper route, and I personally don't see a point in getting a new system. But if not, then no point buying an old mobo for an old CPU. A mobo for a 6600K will also be upgradeable in the future.

Waiting for Ryzen to release might also drop the price on the 6600K.
