Maybe you have 2 hard drives plugged in, and your computer decided that it wanted to go to the first one instead of your normal one

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

I'm a little confused. Did it just start up with a new wallpaper and no shortcuts on the desktop, but everything else was fine?

ENCRYPTION IS NOT A CRIME

This makes NO sense whatsoever. Please don't respond if you have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

As for the OP: This has actually happened to me as well. I never figured it out, but it's only happened once. My best guess is that windows couldn't find your user folder so all of your stuff (desktop, wall paper, etc.) was gone, but still on the drive. Maybe the drive took too long to respond or windows was just being slow.

In my experience, my computer is a moody bitch that doesnt do anything right, which includes what hard drive it likes to boot to. Sometimes it boots to one, sometimes it boots to the other one. Thats why I only have one plugged in with an OS.

Maybe there was some kind of crash before, or some other problem which caused a safe mode load. You might have booted up on an admin account, or guest account. That would explain why your windows looked and acted like it was on an new/unused users account.

dosnt matter anymore i had to reinstall windows for the fact that i got blue screened and i belived my gpu was over heating
