Hey idk what to choose. I play lots of rust and dayz, Ark, gta 5  etc. At the moment I'm on a laptop with gtx 765m at 900p. The PC I'm building is gtx 1070 8gb, 16gb ram and i7 6700k. I love amazing graphics but also want super Smooth. I want to have solid around 100fps whether it's displaying 60fps or 100fps I don't know I just want every game ultra settings to never jump close to or below 60fps. And would I be better with 144hz for that? Cuz rust is pretty fast pace how I play. Thanks.

@GrunclePug69 I'd suggest you get a 1440p 60 Hz IPS monitor with G-Sync IF you're gonna play graphically demanding games in the future (i.e. The Witcher 3, GTA V) because these games will be hovering just below 60 FPS. This'll cause a little tearing (in fact any framerate will). So, since all Maxwell and Pascal cards come with Fast Sync, which prevents screen tearing above your monitor's framerate, you need something that will prevent screen tearing below it as well. So, if you're playing
1. non-graphically demanding games: 1440p 60 Hz IPS (No G-Sync)
2. graphically demanding games: 1440p 60 Hz IPS (With G-Sync)

Of course, you could always not get a G-Sync panel and live with a little screen tearing when the framerates drop below your monitor's refresh rate to save some money. :)

Building a pc. Gtx 1070 8gb, i7 6700k, 16gb ddr4 2400mhz. I'm thinking 1440p 60hz for it? Will the gpu run 1440p ultra setting on games like Witcher 3? What's it's limit? Suggestion? Kinda new to monitors. I'm looking at the asus pb278q 27" pls/ips monitor. Please help

Sure, it will run it at 60 fps with no problems.

p.s. from my personal experience, some settings in witcher 3 can be lowered without huge harm to the looks, but can improve performance at the same time. Anyways, 1070 shouldn't have any problems.

The gpu is very capable of driving that 1440p display at 60hz. You will enjoy that for sure.

However if you want to play any fast paced games, not like the Witcher, more like CS:GO or anything else that requires you to be really quick, you might want to look at a different display. The response time and lag add up to about 28ms. Personally I wouldn't care too much about that, I just think it is good to know before you buy.

As everyone else said, your GPU should satisfy you. As for monitor, that one is fine. But I would get this monitor instead:

Speakers are nice feature if your headphones broke or just are not here, and you wanna hear something :) Nice display.

Kinda difficult to say. It is hard to find anything in that price range. I also don't know where you are from. I mean I could just suggest a monitor, but that would probably cost you double....

How Important are response times to you and how much are you willing spend?
