CPU bottleneck?

Go to solution Solved by BenoitWW,

your CPU has a AM3 socket.

your cpu definitely needs an upgrade, listed below are 3 CPUs. Your current, a AM3 socket, and a intel budget equivalent

scores on passmark (benchmarking software)

1. Current          = X2 235e:                      1655

2. AM3 socket   = Athlon II X4 640 OEM  3341    (x2.0 performance) - $75

3. Intel upgrade = i3 6100:                        5427   (x3.2 performance) - $110

so if you want to build a new system, I would totally recommend the i3 6100. If upgrading your current system, I would get the Athon.

For graphics cards in either system, these 3 cards should be good

RX 460

GTX1050

GTX1050 ti

Hello,

I have a old desktop with no dedicated graphics card. I would want to add a 1050 or 1050ti since some models dont require a wire to be connected since it doesnt draw that much power.

This is the cpu the computer has :  AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 235e 2.7 GHz

This is the computer : Emachines et1331g-03w

Link to specs of the computer : http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/329445-28-emachines-et1331g-detailed-specs

The main use of this computer will be gaming on Rocket League/Minecraft/CS-GO. These are the only games I intend to use on this computer.

Will the CPU bottleneck the 1050/ti were it can get around 90fps even if its on low settings or is it too much of a extreme bottleneck that it cant reach around 90 fps in these games?

-Thank you for any advice given.

Which country did you live at? If at US or Canada, buying pc part may cheaper and easier.

$450 build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/chJTZ8 (this is much better value)

$320 build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7BR9wV (cheaper, but less value)

Is there CPU that I can use with this current MOBO or would I need a complety another MOBO. I think this is top best of CPU's for this kind of socket if im not mistaken.

-thanks again
