So,

I am stuck with a Mac for at least another year. (I am hoping I will be able to get an Intel Broadwell or Skylake based laptop when they come out)

In the mean time,

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro with a dual core i7 - 2620M and 4GB RAM

As I prefer windows to OSX I am almost continuously running bootcamp.

There are many problems with this it seems:

  • The fan starts going on full while idling on the desktop
  • I get 7 hours of battery life on OSX but only 4 on windows
  • Occasional driver malfunctions (trackpad and keyboard stop working)
  • General Performance and gaming performance seems lower than it should be

Are all these because of the bootcamp?

To my question:

I am wondering if the above issues would be helped if I:

    a. Reformat the HDD and install windows as the base OS

    b. Install a second HDD that is Windows only (perhaps using one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Drive-Unibody-MacBook-SuperDrive-Replacement/dp/B0058AH2US )

thank you for any help you can give me!

OSX sucks -.-
