So you want something compatible with DDR3 memory and good enough for a RX460?

if you already have a LGA775 motherboard you should be able to pick up a second hand i7 that will work with the GPU and ram. Something like a i7-2600 should be good enough. You can pickup ex-leased computers with i7 really cheap.

sorry i typed it wrong. for the lga775 you cant use an i7. you need a core2 quad. what i was trying to say was you can get a i7 that uses DDR3 ex-lease very cheap. if you do want to throw in a core2quad you can get those dirt cheap but I would just look for a ex-lease with a i7-2600

Unfortunately none of them.

I wouldn't buy a new core 2, or old processor like this as they're wayyy overpriced. At least on newegg theyre overpriced.

You could go with a new i3 or pentium, but I'm unsure if they'll pair up with the Rx 460 without bottlenecking.

I don't know how AMD chips do, but a lot of people like the FX 6300 as a budget gaming CPU.

as for motherboards, whatever takes your ram and has a  PCI-e 16x slot.

However you still haven't given me a purpose for this PC so I can't tell you what to get because I don't know what you need
