So I have a micro sd card, and it would be nice if I could have it connect to my phone via lightning, unfortunately, the one for lightning cost $50 compared to the android one which is $13.. So I was thinking, what if I connected my lightning to usb cable, then connected a sd card reader. Would it work? Also what if I bought something like this, then connected the Leef micro usb to sd card reader, would it work?

Thanks!

The port stated are for charging and syncing with PC. I am not sure if peripherals such as card reader would work.

I've found some lightning-USB dongles that work for attaching USB flash drives, but you'll have to do the research on your own to see if it will work how you plan to.

I got something like this guy here -

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pny-duo-link-on-the-go-usb-lightning-flash-drive/4846500.p?skuId=4846500

Works like a charm.  Just plugging a USB into the end of a lighting-USB cable didn't work for me.  The iphone doesn't have a driver built in for it, or something like that.  The app that goes with the duo link is free, just the USB cost anything.
