Old computer NAS psu

Welcome to the forums. It will "handle" them in the sense that there should be enough sata ports on them, and the PSU should be fine. However, optiplex systems don't have room for 3 3.5 in drives. The small form factor ones don't even have room for one desktop size drive, only 1 (or 2) laptop size drives.

When in doubt, re-format.

Now that's the right attitude. You can get pretty nice hot-swap HDD bays meant for use in optical bays.

When in doubt, re-format.
