Anti aliasing question

If a game has the option to have 8xmsaa and fxaa together is it better for visuals to have both or is it better to have just 8xmsaa?

Remember this question is based entirely on visual quality and not fps

I had a feeling that might be the case, i think the fxaa would blur the msaa too much wouldnt it

how so? what does MSAA do in comparison?

FXAA is an approximation.
