EVGA G3s

Moress

So, does anyone know if the G3 series is good? I saw that the G2s are already starting to get a little harder to find. The G2s used to be my go to high-end psu suggestion (Have the 550w myself) and thought about switching over to suggesting the G3 but I really just don't know. Also I saw that the 550 G3 is about $100 right now. Think they're worth the premium right now? Thoughts?

What do you think a good supplement for them would be right now? Hopefully theyll come down soon.

The upgrade grom the G2 series to the G3 series is not worth it.

Both are decent.

And a PSU is not a part you gain any more performance from.

If you would upgrade your GPU for example and NEEDED more Watts then you could buy it, if it's worth it to you.

G1s, G2s, GSs, Corsair RMs all good performers that don't break the bank.

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

The G1 is mediocre at best.

Anything from Tier 1-2 on the PSU tier list for high end systems, anything from tier 3 for mid-tier systems, and anything from tier 4 for budget systems.

XFX TS/PS and EVGA GS/GQ are frequently priced well.

Read the OP closer. Im not talking about switching anything of mine. Talking about suggesting them to others when they ask about high end PSUs

G1 (at least the 1000) is great. At least when it's on sale. Got it for like 100 CAD, and it performs up there with the best of them. Only bad thing is the tangly 24-pin. Performance is great.

The 1kw G1 is good. The rest have mediocre build quality/components (similar to EVGA B1/Corsair CX Greens).

Also for XFX check out the XTR units, performance is good, and I have found them for good prices.

The G3 is very much recommendable, but until they stop manufacturing the G2 and it becomes a rare-earth mineral I'll still recommend it.
