Flashing screen

Hi,  have an Acer 25 inch 1440p ips monitor. Ever since I got it the monitor has started to flash on and off after extended use 1hr+. It doesn't turn off the screen just flashes black for 2 seconds then it comes back on for 2 seconds etc... When I turn off the monitor and turn it on again it doesn't happen again for another hour or so.   Can anyone help?  It's also not old like a year or 2. Don't know much about monitors.  Haven't changed any settings on it
