Confusing GPU name...

There seems to be 2 versions of the 8GB ASUS ROG Strix RX 480. There's STRIX-RX480-O8G-GAMING and STRIX-RX480-8G-GAMING. Anyone know what difference the O makes because I'm really confused...?

Factory overclock on the O version.

those aren't GPUs, they're video cards

and it's not confusing at all - "O" stands for overclock

Thanks for the help, I was a bit surprised because the OC version is somehow actually cheaper where I live!

Its only the graphics processing unit that processes graphics, hence the name, not the entire card, so its a graphics card being specific  

Lots of people do call cards gpu's just because its shorter and easier, and most people will still understand.

Because like i said, lots of people call the entire card a gpu just for ease, but in technical terms, the gpu is only the chip on the card itself.

But yes gpu is 980 or 1060 or what ever

and the video card is the whole thing with the cooler
