Theres your reason I would say. Dota 2 is demanding game.

Check your CPU usage, if its above 85% then your cpu is the bottleneck. You can find cpu usage in task manager under "monitoring" on Win 7 (not sure if u have 10).

60fps is good enough for dota. Im more concerned about CSGO but I guess ot prefers higher clocked quad core chips for more fps.

I have i7 and 1060 and Im not getting constant frame rate in casual matches (10v10).

Have to say thats very weird cpu/gpu usage, must be your old system. Game is most likely not optimized for you.

why ? do you have a 144hz screen ?

you can only display 60fps anyway .....

60fps for CSGO is not like 60fps in other games man. Source engine is weird in CSGO, game just doesnt feel like 60fps.

ok, maybe, but anyway 60hz screen !!!!! no CPU uprgade needed as long as 60hz screen, don't advise OP to waste his money for nothing

Getting better cpu is not a waste considering the age of his current one. Due for an upgrade. It would surely benefit him.

Just because its 60Hz it doesnt mean 60fps is all u need. False, 60fps is the minimum fps you should be getting because dips under 60fps are very noticable.

60hz means 60fps is max. ofc you can have less

60Hz means the screen can only display 60fps. To have smooth gaming experiencr you want your max fps to be well above 60 so when it dips it doesnt go down to 20fps (some shitty games do...EA).

Anyway tldr; I advice CPU upgrade when Kabylake comes out. Save money for i5 to have solid performing CPU or look at Zen and decide, either way it will be full platform upgrade (mobo, ram, cpu

Kabylake is just a more expensive Skylake overcloked. We now know it. Same speed = +3% efficience... WoW.....

I would advise to wait for Zen since AMD Won vs Nvidia with DX12 and Also vs Intel with Win10. I can develop on that if you want, I don't mean won like more powerful, but won like "new software architectures benefit AMD and penalize Intel/Nvidia"
